I don’t venture into Mississauga at night for dinner but between the hours of 8am – 5pm here in Mississauga is where I work (Lucky me). In the concrete jungle it’s hard to find a decent place to eat that isn’t part of the SirCorp world of Jack Astors, Milestones etc. However, a shinning beacon of light at the corner of Hurontatio and Lakeshore is a great restaurant by day, Club by night – TEN. I’ve had almost everything on the menu and if I haven’t had the pleasure of enjoying it my lunch company has.

Last week I ate lunch at TEN twice. One was an amazing meal and one a terrible excuse for one. I’m going to report on the positive. I was out with my favorite client Ashlee having a Friday afternoon lunch meeting; it’s always a nice treat to genuinely like your clients, and sip wine with them on Friday afternoons over lunch.

I ordered the Stone Cut & Smoked Pork Chop with mashed Yukon gold potatoes, vegetables, tabasco gravy, stone fruit jam. The portion was quite a bit larger than I anticipated but I “manned up” and ate almost the whole thing – DAM it was good. The chop was juicy, the potatoes just the right amount of garlic and the stone fruit jam just sweet enough to have a perfect contrast to the salty gravy.

My server, as always was amazing! She knows me well now and is right on her mark. I have however had other servers there that don’t know their heads from their asses so it’s really a hit or miss! Today it all came together perfectly.

On Monday not so much, server forgot everything, my Chicken Mango Panini was lacking any kind of Mango and our service – slow, slow, slow!

I would highly recommend TEN for lunch or dinner, as for the club I had the unfortunate pleasure of dinner running late and staying at the “Club” but that is a whole other story.
