My cheeks are still glowing from my amazing “classic burger” from the Stockyards. It was included in the Now magazines Top 20 Burgers under a tenner, Stockyards came in number two. OMG I can totally see why. Shawn and I parked across the street on St. Clair and as we walked across we could smell the BBQ/smoke wafting out of the building, along with a big line of people. It is clearly a popular place! There is seating for about 25 or so people all counter style, its pretty crowded with people lining up all around you but it adds to the atmosphere as the kitchen is busy calling out orders.
It’s not actually a burger joint, people go to the Stockyards for their ribs, that are only on sale Sunday, Tuesdays and Fridays after 5pm. They looked amazing and we are definitely going back to eat them up some time in the near future!! But back to my burger, The Classic, it was just good old fashion chuck! No filling just good quality meat, some nice spices cooked med. On a classic soft egg bun with the traditional fixings, ketchup, mustard, mayo, tomato’s, red onion and pickles. The burger latterly melted in my mouth, it was the freshest I have had since this burger Wednesday journey started in January this year. I ordered a side of coleslaw, which was equally as amazing. I’m not sure what the spice was in the sauce with the pepper and mayo but it gave the slaw a nice kick. If you know what it is, please let me know. Shawn ordered the Beef Brisket with Fries and the Brisket was melt in your mouth as well.
To wash it all down we Boylan’s Natural Soda’s, I had Cream Soda and Shawn Black Cherry. I thought I was drinking liquid vanilla with a hint of powered sugar! YUM.
I gave the Stockyards a perfect score and can’t wait to go back for those RIBS!! But MAN this Burger was Fucken GOOD!!
