Terroni is one of my favorite restaurants in Toronto. I have been to two of their locations, King St. West and Adelaide St. I usually stick to my favorites, Spaghetti in Canna a Mare and Frittura di Calamari. Both are delicious but this week I tried what seemed to be a simple appetizer that BLEW my mind. I was in mushroom bliss. I tried the Funghi Assoluti, as listed on their menu to be Baked Oyster Mushrooms with Parmigiano & Balsamic Vinegar on Arugola, it sounds so simple and actually not terribly appealing to me. Don’t get me wrong, I love mushrooms but I’m didn’t think I was a huge fan of Oyster Mushrooms, but now I am. The mushrooms were slightly crispy with a rich velvety feel when you bit into them. The Balsamic brought out a bite that complemented the mushrooms and spicy arugola perfectly! I can’t wait to go back and have another one…which should be soon as I have a Terroni dinner promised to me by a special someone.

The Adelaide location is in a super amazing building, a 19th century courthouse. My only issue here is I feel like you are jammed packed in like sardines. There is no real room between tables, I don’t sit that close to relatives at Christmas dinner if you get my drift. It’s super hard to hear your dinning companion as everyone around you is yelling for air time. But alas a small price to pay for a super amazing meal.

If you have never been to Terroni, you are missing some of the best Italian in the city.
