Today was the first day back at the office after New Years, so all the talk was around resolutions and detoxing. Well at least I know I am not on my own here considering that the number one resolution across the board each year is to loose weight…and most people think that detoxing will achieve this goal. It made me think about my own resolution and how it’s really not about losing weight this year or quitting smoking but really finding the balance to have these positive changes and many more through balance. I’m going to drive you nuts with that word, balance…but the more I say it, I’ll understand it, and put it into practice.
My balance today was making it through a whole day without any processed sugar in the form of candy or ice-cream. Every time I have quit smoking I have SERIOUS cravings for sugar, I think it’s the same thing when people quit heron. Anyway, back to my food consumption today.
breakfast – two slices of rye with organic peanut butter
snack – apple, almonds
lunch – coleslaw (with about a cup of mayo – lots of sugar there but not candy)
snack – 8 triscuts (more sugar), 2 laughing cow cheese pcs.. 1/4 advocado
dinner – pita pizza (pita bread, 1/2 cup tomato sauce (more sugar), harvati cheese slice, 1 tbsp feta cheese, 1 tbsp grated parasean, and fresh basil), salad with whole made dressing, using advocado oil, garlic, honey, balsamic and while viniger
I feel really good today considering I didn’t sleep well last night. My bitchy level is about a 2-10. All in all a very good day. I’m happy with day three of the 2012 detox.
I’m attempting to go Vegetarian. Actually Pescatarian. For the same reasons, balance. I think we just made our own support group.
