2012 Detox Day Nine

Today I spend $102.00 on vitamins at the health food store-The Healthy Whey in Cabbage Town. I went in looking for Cod Liver Oil and walked out with a $20 bottle of Whole Fish Oil 30 soft gels(New Chapter), $45 for 48 Multi Vitamins(New Chapter), and $26 for Ester-C Powder Formula (Sisu). This is not unusual for me, when I do something I typically go overboard, I lovingly refer to you as the GARAND way. But in all seriousness, the only thing unusual about my purchase today was this new Ester-C. I tired it today at lunch, I was expecting some tangy orangina flavour…I mixed the powder in my water and watched the water turn green. Need I say more.

What I am specifically looking for in the purchase today is to clean my lungs out, help repair the 20 years worth of smoking damage I have done to them. Today I told someone I am ready to live the rest of my life smoke-free. I have never put it that way, after saying it and really thinking about the words and what they mean to me, I really am ready to live the rest of my life smoke-free. I can’t ever take it back, but I can do everything in my power to repair the damage and not look back.

As for food today, again it was a day of no sugar. While reading Joshi’s Holistic Detox and copious amounts of other articles I’m finding out that sugar really is the devil! I knew it was bad for you, I once read it can cause schizophrenia, it may not, but it’s still horrible. I even have convinced Shawn to give up Pepsi…it’s been 12 hours for him. He said it was going to be harder than quitting smoking but I have faith in him…and a whole bunch of stories to scare the shit out of him in the process.

I feel like today was a bit of a rant, Cigarettes bad, sugar bad! Happy Detox Monday.
