Aunt Helen’s Favorites; Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Squares

Oh how I love peanut butter! It runs in my family. I guess I come by it honestly after eating peanut butter sandwiches for the first 12 years of my life. A staple in a blue collar family. Here is a twist on the traditional Rice Krispie square done Helen Garand style.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Rice Krispies

2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk 1⁄4 cup peanut butter 1⁄2 cup light corn syrup 1⁄2 cup brown sugar (packed)
4 cups rice cereal
Cook first 4 ingredients in saucepan until well mixed and thickened, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add rice cereal stirring to coat. Pack into greased 9 x 9 inch pan. Cool and ice and cut into squares.

Icing
1⁄2 cup chocolate chips 2 tbsp. peanut butter
Melt chips and peanut butter over low heat and spread over bars.
